Buffet Christmas Dinner At Salvation Army Old Folks Home.

It was a Sunday morning. When I opened the gate to water the small garden patch outside my house, I was greeted by this beautiful sunrise.

  1. Is the fire station trimmed in pink or does it just look that way because of the lighting?

    1. That is the colour of the fire station at that time. I don't know whether it has been repainted after that.

  2. We love the Salvation Army! My husband remembers fondly how they enriched his life. I remember how much we appreciated the clothes we had as children - given to us by the Salvation Army. Mostly I’m reminded of a memory my sister told me of the first Thanksgiving after I married and left home. It was 1963 and Grandma Collins, Mother and my two sisters, Lloydine and Lanita, along with our brother, Lonnie, all dressed up and went to what they thought was a fancy banquet. There were decorations and everything. My siblings recall how wonderful it was and the food was delicious. It was the nicest place they had ever been so fR in their lives. They were 12, 10 and 9 years old. It wasn’t until the Monday after Thanksgiving, while at school, that a fellow student of Lloydine’s said, “I saw you on Thanksgiving.” It was then she learned it was a Salvation Army Charity meal.....and after all these years, we are all now in our 60’s ....we all donate every time we see a Salvation Army Bell Ringer. It is a wonderful organization and has blessed untold numbers of people.....including us.
