Simple Home Cooked Dinner & Butterfly In My Garden

This was the morning sky that greeted me about 2 weeks ago. I was locking up the gate after hubby reversed out the car from under the porch.

The sun peering from behind the grey clouds.

I cooked stewed pork belly the previous night and there was some left over. The next evening, I warmed up the remaining stewed pork belly for dinner.
I lined the bottom of the plate with cooked potato slices and steamed the pork belly over the potato slices.

You can spot the yellow pieces (cooked potato slices) underneath the pork pieces.
Steamed 2 chicken thighs - marinated with salt and Chinese cooking wine.
I cooked a small portion of rice and I took a few spoonfuls of white rice.
I didn't cook any greens because they was none in the fridge.

The following butterfly photos are for joining Saturday's Critters.
I saw this butterfly fluttering in my garden and I waited for it to be still.
Photo #1 - Finally the butterfly settled on one of the leaf.
Photo #2 - Black butterfly with white dots.
Photo #3
It was hidden under the bougainvillea leaves and branches.

Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow,
an undeserved curse does not come to rest.

  1. I think I would enjoy that dish of pork belly and sliced potatoes. While I don’t eat a lot of meat, I’m still a meat and potatoes kind of eater and so is Louis Dean!
It’s such a special moment when we spy something beautiful like your butterfly! Yesterday we were sitting in the gazebo and spied a mother bird going to her nest which just happened to be by the back French doors in a window box. The nest is hidden by some plants. It was like finding a treasure watching her fly back and forth from nest to tree!
Happy Saturday to you.....although with the time difference yours may be nearly spent!

  21. Potatoes also grow from the ground... though I tried telling a health-conscious friend before that potatoes are "vegs" and she said they're a different food group hehe.
