Heavy Brunch In Penang

On short notice, my friend invited me to join them for a 1 day trip to Penang. Since I have nothing on that day, I accepted the invitation. It was a leisure drive and we reached Penang about 11:00 am. We were looking forward to our first meal i.e. brunch as we were very hungry by then since we didn't take any breakfast.
A plate of chee cheong fun Penang style with hae ko or shrimp paste. This version is more on the sweet side compare to what we have in Ipoh.
Penang white curry noodle served with extra spicy curry paste in spoon for extra heat.
 Penang char koay teow
Braised pork leg, tofu, eggs and blanched vegetable.

After brunch, we bought some Nyonya kueh and glutinous rice dumplings to take home.
Then, we crossed the 2nd Penang bridge back to the mainland and headed towards the newly opened Ikea shopping mall. For most part of the journey back to Ipoh, it was raining heavily. Thank God for journey mercy.

The following photos are for joining Saturday's Critters.
This white goose seemed to be very interested in the visitors at the strawberry farm in Cameron Highlands.

  1. The bridge is what interests me the most here. It looks very long. Also looks like it is not very old.

  6. You know Nancy, every time I read your blog and read and look about the many different types of food, I'm always hungry after reading about it. I feel like I'm gaining weight. LOL See ya.
