Lunch At Dong Tai Kopitiam,

We managed to get 4 ex-colleagues (retirees) together for lunch.

We went in one car and I was the driver for that day.
We were supposed to have Western lunch but found the place closed. Then someone suggested another place, found that place closed too but we found one kopitiam just opposite which was open.
Dong Tai Kopitiam
46 (Grd Flr) Jalan Foo Eng Lin, Jalan Pasir Puteh, Ipoh.
There is free parking available in front of the kopitiam. We were just in time to get a table for 4 people. Those that came after us have to wait to be seated because it was peak lunch hour.
Iced coffee O for a coffee lover. No, not me.
Milo
Ginkgo and barley sweet drink - 2 bowls.
Not too sweet, just nice for us.
We ordered 5 types of food for sharing.
Salted fish fried bihun.
Homemade dry noodle with fried pork lard.
Nasi Kukus Ayam Berempah.
Steamed rice + fried chicken with spices.
Kaya + butter toast
Nyonya kuih - you will have to pick your choices at the counter.
Total cost for all the above food is RM63.
Thanks ladies. Looking forward to our next food outing.

No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be,
but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing:
Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,
I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize
for which God is calling us up to heaven
because of what Christ Jesus did for us.
(Philippians 3:13-14, The Living Bible-TLB)

    1. Nasi kukus is a bit plain for me. I think I would prefer the traditional nasi lemak. The Nyonya kuihs taste good.

Oh, and such yummy-looking food! In half an hour... greek bread from last Saturday with cheese and a boiled egg. Booooring. Like every morning since Saturday, too.
Thank you for vitually enjoying something better! :-)

  8. Nancy I would like to know what you can eat in a restaurant with western cuisine. When you go to one of them I would like to see.

  13. Thank you Nancy for featuring this Dong Tai Kopitiam. Looks like a nice place to hang out. I love to eat by nyonya kuih. That plate of noodles only have noodles, pork lard and vegetables? No other meat or ingredients?
