Vegetable Dumplings, Chinese Crullers & Peanut Pancake

This was a Friday. The day started with a golden sunrise.

When I took this snapshot, I didn't notice that the lamp post was right in right of the sun.
~~~~~
I bought the following items for our breakfast and lunch.
For breakfast, I bought 2 sets of vegetable dumplings (yam bean filling) , 1 set of vegetable dumplings (Chinese chives filling) and 1 set of fried savoury kuih. I can choose any 4 sets from the table for RM10 or pay RM3 for 1 set.
These are sold for RM1.10 per piece.
2 Chinese crullers and 2 "horse shoe" (ma keok).
These 2 are my favourites.
2 pieces of peanut pancakes.
I think this is RM1 per piece.
Crushed peanuts, sugar and margarine as filling.
~~~~~
Noodle for dinner.
Instant noodle with stewed chicken feet (extra from the previous day's dinner).
This is hubby's favourite.
Steamed sponge cake (ma lai gao) from our neighbour.

And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today
and thrown into the fire tomorrow,
he will certainly care for you.
Why do you have so little faith?

Glutinous Rice Wine & Bak Kut Teh Soup

As usual, we stopped by one of our regular coffee shop after our morning walk. Before we could sit down, our friend handed over the sweet cakes or Nyonya kuih to us. Our day started off with sweet cakes or kuih. When I was young, I do not like sweet things but as I get older, I am not so fussy.

We ordered a bowl of herbal tea and a cup of unsweetened kopi-c.
With all these sweet cakes from our friend, we needn't order any other food.
We passed by these pigeons on our walk home after breakfast.
Be careful never to walk under these birds.

As the plant grow taller, the flowers continue to bloom.
Later the seeds will disperse and self propagate.
I was attracted to these 2 birds up on the tree top by their loud chirping.
They were happily singing aloud to each other in the cool morning.
Very soon, I will be harvesting glutinous rice wine from these 2 bottles. It doesn't look like much.
~~~~~
For dinner I cooked Bak Kut Teh or Pork Rib Herbal Soup.
Ingredients for cooking the above soup:
1 packet of herbs, pork ribs, tofu puffs, mushrooms, red dates, goji berries, and some salt to taste. This is our 1 dish dinner without any rice or noodle.
"Good salt is worthless if it loses its saltiness;
it can season anything.
So don't lose your flavor!
Live in peace with each other."
Breakfast With Friend And Home Cooked Dinner
We woke up early this morning and we were out of the house earlier than usual for our morning walk at the park.
 Beautiful morning sky at 6:30 am
 6:55 am
 The sun rising from behind the mountains - 7:17 am
 After we have finished walking, I bought these 2 cute red capsicums from the stall at the park.
 I need to quickly water my plants because I need to get ready to go out with a friend. Took a quick snapshot of the pink Cleome Spider flower. This plant sprung out probably from a seed that fell into that flower pot.
 My friend and I went to Kafe Little Nam Yeong for the above "kai si hor fun" noodle for breakfast. We added 2 fish balls to our noodles. As usual, the place was fully packed with customers.
For dinner, I used the red capsicums that I have bought to cook the white bitter gourd. As I have been harvesting bitter gourd quite regularly, I need to cook using different recipes so as not to get bored eating bitter gourd so often. Ingredients used were fish paste, red okra, white bitter melon, red capsicum, salted black beans, etc.
Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be
constantly changing for the better.
Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good.
Clothe yourself with this new nature.
Growing Cleome Spider Flowers In My Garden.
The flowers I am sharing today is the Cleome Spider Flowers growing in my garden. Its scientific name is Cleome hassleriana. I saw these plants growing in the garden of the bungalow in Fraser's Hill. We were there in July, last year for our holiday.
I had no idea whether these plants will grow in the lowland but the flowers are so pretty, I just have to collect some seeds to take home to try.
I took some dried seed pods from plants of different colours. There were pure white, pink and lilac colours. The plants growing in Fraser's Hill were low about 3 to 4 feet high.
I took some of the tiny seeds from inside the dried seed pods and germinated them in a small flower pot. I was so happy to see the tiny seedlings appeared after a few days. I waited till some of them were about 3 inches height and strong enough to transfer to bigger pots.
I placed the pots at my side garden where they are exposed to 1/2 day sun and they grew to about 2.5 feet when they started to flower.
Flower buds of the Cleome Spider plant.
The individual flower has long flower stalks.
Each leaf has 9 leaflets.
The first colour to appear is the white one.
Each flower has 4 petals with 6 long stamens.
I used normal garden soils with good drainage. Try to keep the soil moist at all times.
 Under hot sun, the petals will curl up and if the soil is dry, the leaves will go limp and droop.
 From the same plant with the pure white flowers, it also bloomed a mixture of white and pink flowers like the one above.
 This is how the flowers look like when they are viewed from above.
 Another plant has a mixture of white, lilac and purple flowers.
The purple stamens pushing out from the flower buds.
 As the plant grows taller, new flowers continue to bloom.
 This first flower stalk is now about 6 feet tall and it is still flowering.
 At a closer view, you will see that the 4 petals are arranged on one side above the 6 stamens.
 And the flower petals are facing outwards.
 A mixture of pink, lilac and purple.
 There are lots of seeds forming on the plants.
Plenty of seed pots hanging from the flower stalks.
The average length of the seed pods is about 2.5 to 2.75 inches.
I am glad I brought the seeds back from Fraser's Hill.
Now I can enjoy these beautiful blooms in my own garden.
Due to the current rainy season, my Cleome Spider plants are doing very well.
 These are my latest attraction in my garden. God's beautiful creation.
Gardening may be hard work but these are my reward!
Linking to Floral Bliss.
The Lord will always lead you.
He will meet the needs of your soul in the dry times
and give strength to your body.
You will be like a garden that has enough water,
like a well of water that never dries up.
