Home Made Salted Duck Eggs & Home Cooked Dinner

Our morning walk continues as usual on the first day of CMCO (9th November, 2020).

Morning sky at 8:20 am.
This Cleome spider flower is from a self propagated plant. The seed was preserved in the ground and sprouted out between the flower pots.
Once again I can enjoy this pretty Cleome flowers.
It was quite a boring day with not much activity going on. It was also too hot to be in the garden. I had a new batch of home made salted duck egg and once or twice a day, I use a chop stick to push the floating eggs into the salt water.
My home cooked dinner with steamed rice for 2 people.
I cooked buttermilk prawns again because I need to used up the remaining half tin of evaporated milk in the fridge.
Sauteed garlic scapes and cabbage with sambal paste.
A convenient way to clear whatever is left of the sambal paste.

"This is the way you should go,"

Buttermilk Prawns For Dinner

Our morning walk was cancelled last Wednesday because it was drizzling. We got into our car and off we went looking for breakfast. Out of a few suggested places, we finally chose Restoran Yee Lock, Jalan Raja Musa Aziz (originally named Anderson Road). We were thinking of the "Mah Jie" curry noodle. It was only after we had scanned the QR code, we noticed that the stall was closed.

We looked around the stalls. Hubby decided to order prawn noodle, while I ordered fried rice vermicelli (no photo to show).

Back home in my garden.
I harvested 3 red okras from an old plant. This old plant is still bearing okras, so I let it be even though the okras are smaller in size.

I am collecting the seeds to propagate for a friend.

Our home cooked dinner.
There were the French beans, tomatoes, and hairy squash (moh kwa) given by a friend that I need to cook. I didn't want to keep in the fridge for too long.
Hairy squash with dried prawns and garlic.
French beans, tomatoes and 3 home grown okras cooked with sambal belacan.
Buttermilk prawns with curry leaves.
First time cooking buttermilk prawns and it was so delicious.
Hubby wanted some noodles to go with the buttermilk prawns.

Dinner At Caterbest, Bercham, Ipoh

Last month, we were looking forward to meet up with our friend CMC at the Wedding Buffet Dinner held at Caterbest, Bercham. Unfortunately, at the last minute, something came up and she was not able to attend the dinner. Recently, she called me to inform that she will be back in Ipoh and would like to meet up with us. Since one of our friends is staying in Bercham, we decided to have our dinner at Restoran Caterbest, especially for our visitor, it was her first visit to this restaurant.
