Dinner For Six At Sun Hung Ting Restaurant, Ipoh

It was a day of meeting up with friends. First, I had lunch with 3 other ex-colleagues at Xibei Good at Jalan Bharu, Ipoh.

I ordered the above wantan noodle with minced pork, bbq pork and a bowl of prawn dumplings. The pickled green chili is a must and I took some of the chili sauce to taste.

That evening, we gathered with friends at Sun Hung Ting Restaurant for dinner.
Fried tofu with minced pork and salted radish.
3 flavoured pork rib.
Grouper slices in wine soup (drunken fish soup).
Sambal belacan kangkong (water spinach).
Dinner for 6 people.
I saw this Royal Enfield motorcycle park in front of an eatery one evening.
Excerpt from Wikipedia:
Royal Enfield is an Indian multinational motorcycle manufacturing company headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The first Royal Enfield motorcycle was built in 1901 by the Enfield Cycle Company of Redditch, Worcestershire, England, which was responsible for the design and original production of the Royal Enfield Bullet, the longest-lived motorcycle design in history.

Unless the Lord builds a house, the builders' work is useless.
Unless the Lord protects a city, sentries do no good.
It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning
till late at night, fearing you will starve to death;
for God wants his loved ones to get their proper rest.

Prawn Noodle & Curry Noodle At #884, Jalan Queen, Pasir Pinji, Ipoh

After having tasted the food at this riverside village eatery at the end of Jalan Queen with our friend (you can click here for the post), we wanted to go back to try other varieties. Our friends couldn't make it so it was just only hubby and I.

We ordered a glass of herbal tea and a cup of unsweetened black coffee.
Prawn noodle for me.
Curry noodle for hubby.
It was a satisfying breakfast for both of us.
We will be returning again to try other varieties.
~~~~~
While waiting for our breakfast to be served, I was busy take photos of the playful dogs.
Scrumptious Dinner At Restoran Fan Chen Mei, Bercham
Recently, hubby's foodie friend recommended a restaurant and we went to try out the food on an evening when I didn't cook. We overheard one of the customer ordering coconut chicken soup and we too wanted to order the same. It has been a long time since we last had this soup. Before we ordered, we were told that their offer item for that day was clam (lala). To qualify for the offer, we have to order 2 other dishes excluding the soups. Since we wanted the soup, we declined the offer and will return to enjoy the offer on another day.
Double steamed coconut chicken soup @ RM6.80 (2 servings). When the soup was brought to our table, we could smell the fragrance of the coconut soup.
Fried soft and silky tofu @ RM13.00, topped with pickled radish & minced pork.
They made their own tofu.
Marmite pork rib @ RM16.00. Nice and tender.
Total cost of dinner: RM38.40.
(including 2 small portion rice + 1 Chinese tea)
Business hours for dine-in: from 2pm to 8pm.
Tuesday is their off day.
Location: 3a, Persiaran Medan Bercham 3,
Taman Bercham Baru, Ipoh.
The next day, we returned to the same restaurant with our friends.
On Friday, their offer item is Tilapia fish.
Steamed Tilapia fish with spicy sauce @ RM16.80.
To qualify for the offer, we ordered the next 2 dishes.
#1 - Stinky beans with minced pork @ RM16.00
#2 - Water spinach (kangkong) with fermented bean curd (fu yue) @ RM7.00
Spicy sour fish maw soup (Foochow style) @ RM13.00
This is enough for 4 people.
We also ordered coconut chicken soup for our friends to try @ RM6.80.
Total cost of dinner for 4 people = RM65.10
(including 4 rice, small portion and drink).
Sunset at 7:06pm
After dinner, we took a short drive around the area.
Sunset at 7:14pm.
Sunset at 7:15pm.
Sunset at 7:22pm.
On our way home, driving on the highway.
Heaven can be entered only through the narrow gate!
The highway to hell is broad and its gate is wide enough
for all the multitudes who choose its easy way.
But the Gateway to Life is small,
and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it.
Home Grown Kangkong (Water Spinach) From My Garden
After returning from morning walk and breakfast, I harvested some greens from my garden.
Time to harvest the water spinach (kangkong) and green amaranth (yeen choy).
I plucked the water spinach for dinner.
I sauteed the water spinach (kangkong) with garlic and salt. I choose to cooked it plain to enjoy the natural sweetness of the vegetable.
Leftover of the previous day's pork strips and belimbing buluh.
Again, I boiled plain brown rice porridge for dinner.
Received a comb of bananas from our neighbour.
Our generous neighbour is our regular supplier of papayas and bananas.
Our back neighbours love to feed the pigeons.
Can you see the white pigeon spreading its wings?
These pigeons tend to gather on rooftops and awnings. They also build their nests under the roofs, the eaves and any place possible of the buildings.
Wherever they are, they leave behind their messy poops and this can be a health hazard. Some likes to feed these pigeons but once there are many, they can be a nuisance and is not easy to get rid of.
Throw out the mockers,
and you will be rid of tension, fighting, and quarrels.
Dinner On A Rainy Night
It rained last night on and off. This morning there was a light drizzle, so there was no morning walk.
Morning sky at 7:45am
~~~~~
Breakfast in our area.
I ordered pork with daikon soup noodle. It tastes something like beef  with daikon soup noodle, substituting beef with pork. No photo of hubby's breakfast, he ordered wan tan hor.
Cucumber plants in my garden.
~~~~~
Dinner in hubby's hometown Gopeng.
We went to one of the restaurants in Lawan Kuda.
There were six of us to a big table.
Fried pork belly slices with fried garlic with skin.
This was the second time we ordered this dish but it was not as good as the first time. Taste wise, it was okay but the pork belly slices were not crispy as before.
We ordered snakehead fish (san yu) and the meat slices used to cook "kam heong" style. From the above portion, I guessed the fish was not a big one.
The bony part of the fish cooked in herbal and rice wine soup.
Water spinach or kangkong cooked in shrimp paste. Of all the dishes, this was the only dish that was the right portion for 6 people
Deep fried squid.
This looks like a small portion for 2 or 3 people.
We have been here a few times and were never disappointed except this one time. It is obvious that prices of food have definitely increased.
For the Scriptures tell us that no one who believes in Christ
will ever be disappointed.
