It was a day of meeting up with friends. First, I had lunch with 3 other ex-colleagues at Xibei Good at Jalan Bharu, Ipoh.
I ordered the above wantan noodle with minced pork, bbq pork and a bowl of prawn dumplings. The pickled green chili is a must and I took some of the chili sauce to taste.
Wall decoration of the old days.
Old fashioned advertisements on the wall.
Firecracker flowers from my garden.

That evening, we gathered with friends at Sun Hung Ting Restaurant for dinner.
Fried tofu with minced pork and salted radish.
3 flavoured pork rib.
Grouper slices in wine soup (drunken fish soup).
Sambal belacan kangkong (water spinach).
Dinner for 6 people.
I saw this Royal Enfield motorcycle park in front of an eatery one evening.
Excerpt from Wikipedia:
Royal Enfield is an Indian multinational motorcycle manufacturing company headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The first Royal Enfield motorcycle was built in 1901 by the Enfield Cycle Company of Redditch, Worcestershire, England, which was responsible for the design and original production of the Royal Enfield Bullet, the longest-lived motorcycle design in history.
Unless the Lord builds a house, the builders' work is useless.
Unless the Lord protects a city, sentries do no good.
It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning
till late at night, fearing you will starve to death;
for God wants his loved ones to get their proper rest.
(Psalm 127:1-2, The Living Bible-TLB)
The flowers are pretty and the food looks delish.

Thank you, Lovely.
DeleteI didn't even know a motorbike brand. What a long history this Royal Enfield had.
ReplyDeleteNice meal with friends.
Thank you. Hope you will leave me your blog link for me to visit.
DeleteThank you for the information and photo of the motorcycle. Increase my knowledge everyday by reading your posts. 😊 I agree that pickled green chili is a must for many types of noodles. Your Dinner For Six At Sun Hung Ting Restaurant, Ipoh must costs well over 100 ringgit as grouper fish is expensive, right?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. I don't have the receipt with me so I can tell the exact cost of the dinner.
DeleteHmmmm, such yummy food, and with friends! Nothing better - oh, I could need something warm, it cooled down here, sadly.
ReplyDeleteCool motorbike, too and all the old ads!
Thank you, Iris.
DeleteOooo...the noodles look good! The char siew is perfectly charred. I've always enjoyed wanton in soup by the side like that and I like how the noodles are not drowned in some sweet dark sauce like some wanton mee that I had before in KL, not my favourite! The dishes for dinner look alluring too! Must be yummy!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, STP. Both breakfast and dinner were yummy.
DeleteOh I want to eat there too
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Lillian.
