It has been a long time since we last had Bak Kut Teh (Pork Rib Herbal Soup). During one of our get together, a friend mentioned that they too have not eaten Bak Kut Teh for a long time.
On Tue evening, we made a dinner date with our friends.
I snapped this pic of the setting sun from the front passenger seat.
We were on our way to pick up our friends on this beautiful evening.
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal
that has come on you to test you,
as though something strange were happening to you.
But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ,
so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
(1 Peter 4:12-13, NIV)
The place was filled up by 7 pm. Even the tables on the pathway outside the shop were also taken up.
We ordered a clay pot of Bak Kut Teh for 4 people. A mixture of pork rib, pork belly, stomach, intestine, deep fried beancurd sheet, etc.
Blanched glass lettuce with sprinkling of deep fried garlic & oil.
A small claypot of stewed pork trotter, dried chili, cuttlefish strips, etc. I was tempted to go for 2nd helping of white rice.
A small clay pot of add-on - tofu puff (tofu pok) & Enoki mushroom (kum chum koo or golden needle mushroom).
Total cost of dinner inclusive of 4 white rice -
MYR 68 (approx. 16.97 USD).
Sun Tong Chew Bak Kut Teh,
Jalan Chung Thye Pyin (near Kampar Road).
