Steamed Buns, Rojak, Yellow Cucumber & Lotus Root Soup

Sunday 6th June - got up early but still have to wait till 7am before we can go out for our morning walk.

Sunrise at 6:45am
Pink sky at 7:02am
Nice pink sky.
7:10am
Sun rising from behind the mountains at 7:20am.
~~~~~
Upon reaching home from morning walk, I took out the 4 buns (neighbour gave) from the fridge to steam and made coffee at the same time.
There were 2 types of steamed buns.
2 bbq pork buns.
2 lam yee pork buns.
Both types were very tasty.
Snapshot of white bougainvillea plant by the roadside.
Close up of the flowers.
~~~~~
Simple lunch.
Rojak (minus the sauce).
Rojak with the red sauce.
Rojak for hubby and starfruit for me.
I taxed a few pieces of the rojak from hubby.
~~~~~
Dinner
Soup of the day.
Ingredients used: Home grown yellow cucumber, lotus root (2 segments), carrot, dried cuttlefish, soft bone pork, red dates and goji berries.
Sauteed home grown sweet potato leaves with dried prawns sambal and shrimp sauce.
Dinner for 2 people.
I cooked enough for 4 people to share with our neighbour.
Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord!
How good you are! Your love for us continues on forever.
Who can ever list the glorious miracles of God?
Who can ever praise him half enough?
(Psalm 106:1-2, The Living Bible-TLB)
  22. The steamed buns look delicious, especially the bbq beans bun. Are they actual a steam bun? I haven't heard of those in USA. Nice look flowers on roadside. I need to wait til later this evening to go on a walk since it's 90 F. tempurature. Phil walked over the mall without me to get help with his cell phone. I like walking with him but not in the heat. I need to go out and water all the plants. Have a blessed week!
    1. These are actual steamed buns. You can find them in Chinese dim sum restaurants. I too do not like walking in the heat. Have a blessed new week.
  23. Your food tends to be healthier than your hubby's. But I'd vote for rojak over starfruit...
