This was 2 Sundays ago. We woke up a bit late and decided to cancel our morning walk.
Morning sky at 7:35am. Another cloudy day.
We drove out to town to buy breakfast.
Saw that the coffee shop allowed dine-in and the tables were well spaced. Since we were early, there were very few customers dining in. Feeling comfortable, we decided to dine-in. We checked in and have to show proof that we are fully vaccinated. So, this is our 2nd dine-in experience for us.
I ordered Jawa Mee cooked by an Indonesia woman.
This is my favourite mee jawa.
Hubby ordered shredded chicken noodle (kai si hor fun). He noticed that instead of the old man, a younger man has taken over the stall. We were told that the former has retired but we suspected that he could have moved somewhere else. So for the time being, we will have to go back to our 2nd best kai si hor fun in town.
We shared this cup of kopi-C.
After finishing our breakfast, we went to the Jawa Mee stall to buy takeaway for lunch and dinner. I bought 1 packet of nasi lemak (blue rice), 1 chicken rendang, 2 fried drumsticks and 2 curry puffs.
I won't be buying the curry puffs again, very disappointing.
We added some of the rendang gravy to the nasi lemak.
We each had 1 drumstick with the nasi lemak.
We kept the chicken rendang for dinner.
This mural was on the side wall of a shop facing an empty lot
Mural of the entrance to the Night Market (Pasar Malam) in Ipoh new town.
Linking to Monday Mural.
So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that
you really are among those God has called and chosen.
Do these things, and you will never fall away.
Then God will give you a grand entrance into the
eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

That's a fun food post -- I thoroughly enjoyed it . Thank you for the sights.:)
ReplyDeleteAnd the mural looks great for a market. :)
Thank you, Dee.

ReplyDeleteInteresting you have to be fully vaccinated to eat in.
Yes, that is the requirement to dine-in, entrance to shopping mall and etc.

ReplyDeleteI love puffs too.
DeleteMost of it looks so good! What is Kopi-C?
ReplyDeleteIt is black coffee with added evaporated milk instead of condensed milk.

DeleteNancy came by to greet you from Argentina. You already have me as a follower (click on the first image).
ReplyDeleteI find the abundant breakfast they eat in the morning curious. We only milk with coffee and toast with butter and jam.
Greetings from

Thank you, Norma. The place we live in is a foodies' haven.
DeleteFood looks good. How was the curry puff not up to expectations?
ReplyDeleteI don't like the taste of the filling in the curry puff.
DeleteOic. Thanks for the sharing. 👍

DeleteMemory lane can be a good or a sad place. It is possible the older gentleman who ran the stall retired, i know cooking for a living is hard work and maybe he just got tired.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi. Some said he has retired and some said he has moved to a new place. It is true, cooking for a living is hard work and he is quite an elderly man.
DeleteMe parecen muy rico el pollo te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteThank you, JP.
DeleteHave a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteThe mee jawa has too much ingredients! Haha.
ReplyDeleteNasi lemak shows effort put in to make it blue. Looks more attractive.
They are very generous with the ingredients for mee jawa. Nasi lemak taste good too.
DeleteI was just leaving a comment when I heard a “bang” and then my electricity went out. I stepped outside to see if it was just me, or everyone on the block. My next door neighbor was outside and he told me he had called the electric company and reported the outage. They said they would send someone out to check the problem. My electricity finally came back on at 11:17 this morning. It had been out since shortly before 5:00 p.m. last night, around 19 hours. My apologies if you thought I had forgotten or was ignoring you.
ReplyDeleteI'll be brief because I am running behind, dear. Even though I love all the food you shared, I am really in love with that mural. How amazing.
Good to know that the electricity came back on. It must be inconvenient without electricity for 19 hours. If it happened here at this time, we will be spending sleepless night. The weather is so hot here that we need the air con to be able to sleep well.
DeleteTodo se ve muy bien, me gusta tus variantes de comida. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
