Lunch At Pusing Public Restaurant, Ipoh & Brazilian Longan

This rainy season has not been good for some of my plants. One of them is my hibiscus plants, actually 2 of my hibiscus plants. 

This photo was taken before the rainy season started.
The flower has multi layers petals.
I tried to save the plant by trimming away all the sick looking branches and it is now bald. I don't know whether it will be saved and I do hope it will grow back again.

Lunch at Pusing Public Restaurant, Ipoh with some church members.
I think this is sweet sour grouper fish slices.
Asparagus with prawns.
Sweet and sour pork.
Steamed free range chicken with blended ginger.
French beans and brinjal with preserved vegetable (mui choy).
Tofu
Chilled watermelon.
This was lunch for 7 people.
A friend gave us some Brazilian longan.
The skin of Brazilian longan is very hard and thick. I need to use an iron pestle to knock and break open the skin of the longan.
The flesh of the Brazilian longan is thick and sweet, but not as juicy as the Thailand longan.


Follow my advice, my son;
keep it in mind and stick to it. Obey me and live!
Guard my words as your most precious possession.
Write them down, and also keep them deep within your heart.
Love wisdom like a sweetheart;

    Hmmm, ginger and chicken sounds great. As the beans. Watermelon, I i´d be in there, too.

  8. I hope your beautiful yellow Hibiscus will recover. I think the yellow one is moe sensitive compared to the red ones. I have never had Brazilian longan.

  9. The sauce in the sweet and sour fish looks like nyonya sauce. I love that! Can buy at the shops...in bottles.

  13. Wow, I'm so hungry. Sweet sour grouper fish slices, Asparagus with prawns, Sweet and sour pork, chicken with blended ginger, mui choy, Tofu and Chilled watermelon were great. I just wish I could eat them. Yum. yum,yum.

  14. Very interesting post. The hibiscus looks nice, and I hope the plant can be salvaged. Love your food, especially the sweet-sour pork. I haven't had that in years. Time to dine at a Cantonese restaurant.

    1. When compared, yes, I prefer the regular longans which are more juicier.
