This was a Friday night. We had just finished our dinner with friends and were on our way home. Our friend took the road that pass by the People's Park in Ipoh old town. People's Park is usually dark in the night but that night I noticed that the place was lighted up. We were curious to find out what it was all about. Our friend parked the car a short distance away and we walked over to the People's Park.
Chang Jiang White Coffee at the People's Park.
Sorry about the poor quality of the photos because I was using my handphone camera.
According to one of the stalls owner, the night market is open only on weekends.
This night market is not very crowded probably because not many people know about it. We didn't buy anything because we just had our dinner.
This used to be a BBQ Lamb restaurant but now occupied by Chang Jiang White Coffee. Okay, let's go by the main entrance to take a look inside.
A traditional Chinese marriage carriage or bridal sedan chair.
Display of a low wooden dining table with low wooden chairs.
An old fashioned hand powered water pump.
Barber chairs.
Rattan chair.
Rattan baby cot.
An old fashioned weaving wooden loom.
Looks very completed to me.
I wonder if this type of weaving loom is still in use today.
Everyone enjoys giving good advice,
and how wonderful it is
to be able to say the right thing at the right time!

looks like a museum with all the yesteryear furnitures/equipment/stuffs.
ReplyDeleteThis is the current trend in most cafes and modern eateries.
DeleteWhat a wonderful surprise! Oh, I love it all!
ReplyDeleteSo sad you just had something to eat. Interesting museum, too.
Ha. Braunschweig is like that, too. AFTERWARDS you read about events being held and only few people came.
Announce in time, huh?
But you found it and it was not crowded, double-great.
Thank you, Iris. It was by chance that we came to know about this event.
DeleteThe Chang Jiang White Coffee People's Park appears to be a happening place. I have not been to a pasar malam in such a long time.
ReplyDeleteThank you, PH. I too have not been to the pasar malam for a long time. We didn't know this is something like a pasar malam. We saw the lights and we were curious to find out.
DeleteWowwwww!!! Such an interesting place! Nothing like People's Park in Singapore, just a shopping mall and hawker centre - nothing special. This is truly one of a kind!!!
ReplyDeleteAt one time it was neglected until Chang Jiang took over. Now with the weekend night market, good to see the place come alive again.
DeleteThese chairs are so diverse and unique. What a wonderful feature post on it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Roentare.
DeleteThis furniture is very impresive , thanks for your sharing....

DeleteNight market looked lively and interesting.
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a great day.
DeleteSo many fun stuff!
ReplyDeleteYes, lots of interesting things to see and food to taste.
DeleteSome traditional Japanese fabrics of silk and plantain are still weaved with this type of a loom.
ReplyDeleteThank you, RTC. It looks interesting. I would love to learn how to weave if I have the chance to do so.
DeleteThe lighting and stalls in the park create a nice atmosphere, and there are interesting antiques on display to attract visitors.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeevan.
DeleteA beautiful place. I would love to explore here too.

That is a great place if one has time to spare.
DeleteI would love to walk through this place, free entertainment! But no coffee so late in the day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny. This place serves coffee in the day too.
DeleteThank you Nancy. Long time I didn't visit a night market. Does this night market sell clothes?
ReplyDeleteSorry Mun, I can't remember. Hopefully, more stalls will join in.
DeleteThat's lovely, if they are open every weekend it might be a good idea to go back and sample what they have there.
ReplyDeleteGood idea because I saw a few stalls selling food which I am interested to try.
DeleteA night time market looks like lots of fun! It gets so dark so early these days. Plus it is so cold here. Brrrr....coffee might warm a body up. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is the season when it usually rains at night.
DeleteLindo mercado te mando un beso. https://enamoradadelasletras.blogspot.com/
