Changing To New Fencing.

Last year November, we together with our neighbour decided to change the old chain link fencing that divided our side garden to a new one. A friend recommended a contractor to us and he came to measure and a quotation was given.

We agreed to the quotation and a date was given so that I can clear my plants and pots away from the existing fencing to give room for the workers to do their work.
This is the newly fixed intermediate fencing.
According to the contractor this fencing will not rust.
This snapshot was taken from our garden.
This was our old intermediate chain link fencing.
Our garden is about 2 feet higher than our neighbour's garden.
The back wall of our neighbour and ours.
View was from our neighbour's garden.
The first owner built the concrete wall. The current owner fixed the grilles to increase the height for added security.
Needed additional reinforcement because behind this fencing is the back lane.
It was quite a task to move the flower pots before and after fixing of new fencing.
It took us about a week to tidy up the garden and rearrange back the pots.
I did a lot of pulling out, clearing of old plants, replanting and pruning.
Hubby started the hanging pots project.
He planted Japanese roses in the hanging pots.
A mixture of big and small pots of flowering plants and edibles.
Most of them are newly planted seedlings and my garden looked bare.
I still have some available pots to grow veggies.
This is my mini garden at the side of my house.
 Linking to Good Fences.

My work was to plant the seed in your hearts,

and Apollos' work was to water it,

but it was God, not we,

who made the garden grow in your hearts.

  11. Yes, I thought of changing to this type too. The contractor also told the same thing, not rusty. Got only 2 colours, silver & black. Mine old fencing also like yours. How did they charge, by sq feet?

    1. I am so sorry. Hubby also couldn't remember the price of fencing per sq feet. The contractor charged us as per lump sum including the grilles for our window, etc. This new fencing is quite common over here and those that I have seen are the silver colour.

  30. Your new fence looks very nice. This type of fence gives added security too as I was told it is very difficult to climb over this fence because there is no foothold and the opening is not big enough for hands to grip.
