Dinner With Friends At Kedai Minuman Villa

We are now at 146th day of RMCO (recovery movement control order). When the situation begins to look good, new cases will appear and we don't know for how long we will have to observe the requirement of the sop. On our early morning walking rounds, we see used masks discarded everywhere especially on the roads and on the sides of the roads. This is unsightly and bad for the environment. This is why hubby and I have switched to the use of fabric masks which can be washed after every use.

For breakfast, we had takeaway fried economy fried rice vermicelli Indian style with lots of sweet and spicy sambal @ RM 2.00 per packet. Hubby had unsweetened black coffee and herbal tea for me.

As I was watering my plants, I noticed a wild mushroom all alone by itself. I didn't expect to see any wild mushroom as the current weather is warm about 30 to 33 deg Celsius.

~~~~~
We had the following for lunch. These were all from my fridge.
2 steamed pork buns given by our friend.
The above were leftover from previous day's dinner. To heat up the above, I used a nonstick frying pan.Since I was using the nonstick frying pan, I might as well fry the above remaining sweet meat. These can be eaten as a snack.
A simple lunch for 2 people. We kept the sweet meat to be eaten as snack.
My neighbour bought 2 combs of bananas last Sunday. She gave me a comb and kept one for herself. It has been more than a week and until now the 2 combs of bananas remained green. We will wait another week to see what happens.
Dinner eat out with friends at Kedai Minumum Villa, Jalan Dato Tahwil Azhar, Ipoh.
Black Tilapia cooked in a claypot. Very flavourful with lots of garlic and onions.Herbal chicken (half a chicken for 4 people). Thumbs up for this.Sambal belacan water spinach (kangkong)This place serves lunch and dinner, closes at 8 pm. Off day - Wednesday.
Yes, we live under constant danger to our lives
because we serve the Lord,
but this gives us constant opportunities to show
forth the power of Jesus Christ within our dying bodies.
  2. People shouldn't simply throw their used stuffs, doesn't matter whether it is disposable mask or other things. Guess they are just not civic minded enough. The sambal would be too spicy for me. Since they are sweet and spicy but still very spicy, right?
    1. Yes, very sad to see the attitude of some people. I think you will be able to take the sambal even though sweet and spicy. It is not the spicy and burning type.
  3. Your lunch is more than enough for me. I guess the sweet meat Bak kwa can be eaten for a few days. How many would you and your husband need to finish that plate of sweet meat?
  4. I am also very curious to know whether the banana will ripen or not. Did you put them in a warm place or cool place?
    1. I place them in my second hall which is quite warm. Until today, it is still green.
  5. Love your dinner. So long I didn't eat steam whole fish. Good that all of you enjoyed the dinner. Did everyone prefer the chicken to the fish?
    1. This kangkong belacan had too much belacan so we didn't finish because it is quite salty.
  7. The wild mushroom must have grown there from the rainy season before this dry season since it is drying up already. Do you see any other mushrooms nearby?
    1. This mushroom was not shaded but exposed to the sun. It has been a week of hot weather without rain so its amazing to find this mushroom still standing.
  8. The bananas look good.
    Easier for you to wear cloth masks, much better I presume. I presume that there are rubbish bins to put the disposable mask in, but people don't use them!
    1. Thank you, Margaret. Some people just won't take the trouble to drop the mask into the rubbish bins.
  17. We have only used washable masks and the liner inside is removable to wash alone if required. That water spinach looks delicious. Keep safe Diane
    1. Even if it accidentally drops off, at least pick it up and throws it into a rubbish bin. That way, there will be less rubbish around.
  20. So many good things to eat! Yes, discarding masks on the ground is awful, i wonder why people cannot simply wait until they get to a trash can.
  24. I've been using fabric masks since the beginning. Disposable ones seem expensive and wasteful to me.
    Worst case you can cook the banana?
