Pork Noodle & Pan Mee, Taro Rice & Broccoli

For the past few weeks, the sky has been mostly overcast and gray.

Break of dawn at 6:56am
Just before we start our morning walk.
Passing by this leafless tree at 7:15am with birds singing above us.
Sunrise at 7:26am.
~~~~~
We detoured to the nearby shop (one of our regulars) for breakfast.
Hubby ordered mixed pork noodles consisting of minced pork, meat balls, pork liver, and etc.
I ordered hand torn pan mee.
We went to visit my father-in-law's grave a day after All Souls Day in Tambun. On the way back I took this snapshot of the Deepavali decoration when we stopped at the traffic light.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
I cooked taro rice using brown rice, diced taro, chopped shittake mushroom, chicken breast meat, dried shrimps, garlic and onions. I divided the rice into 3 portions. I gave 1 portion to my neighbour, 1 portion for dinner and last portion for next day dinner.
Blanched 1 head broccoli, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Children at play mural.
I took this snapshot in 2014.

Linking to Monday Mural.

Dear children, keep away from anything
that might take God's place in your hearts.
Amen. Sincerely, John.

  2. I'd go for your hubby's mixed pork noodles, not so into pan mee. My girl fried broccoli too the other day when she took over the kitchen - blogpost on it coming soon.

  7. Your taro rice is so tasty! The broccoli balance the taste of the taro rice. This morning I ate hand torn pan Mee too. Saw many people dining in at the coffee shop but I bought takeaway. Love your photo 2 of the birds on the bare trees against the grey white sky. Gives a very wintry 🥶 feel. Can be used as a Christmas card. Are you getting ready for Christmas now?

  11. I like how you season your broccoli. I should do the same. Usually, I just add salted butter to steamed broccoli.
