Yesterday, a group of colleagues or ex-colleagues met up for a special reason. A colleague will be retiring soon and we all made time to come together for a farewell lunch for her. It was also a wonderful opportunity to meet up with our ex-colleagues and stay connected with one another.
A photo for the album before the lunch commence.
Our friends have taken time to plan the venue, came up with the menu with the help of the staff of the restaurant, and sending out whatsapp messages informing us to meet at the Delight Seafood Restuarant, Ipoh for lunch at 12.30 pm.

It was a great time of catching up with one another and we continued with our conversation while tucking in the flavourful and delicious food.
Chicken with mushrooms and ginger slices in a clay pot.
Silky smooth steamed tofu with toppings.
A very flavourful dish - Eggplant or brinjals - a great favourite!
Fried prawns with sticky sauce.
Steamed pork ribs with taro or yam that is so soft and powdery.
Baby French beans with diced treasures.
Steamed fish with appetizing sourish sauce.
For dessert, we had Blue Pea Jelly.
We added pancake and peanut sweet broth because someone had a craving for them.
Fried flaky pancake with sweet filling.
Sweet peanut broth.
Our tummies were filled to the brim and half of the peanut broth had to be packed home by a friend.
It rained heavily yesterday. Thank God for the rain!
We welcomed the rain after a long spell of hot and dry season.

The following pictures are for joining Saturday's Critters.
I was filling up a pail with water in the garden, when I noticed this insect next to the pail.
It appeared and after a while it disappeared.
Was it looking for a sip of water?
Ah! Was this black cat angry with me or wanting to make friends with me?
I like its white whiskers.
Linking to Saturday's Critters.
Dear friends, let us practice loving each other,
for love comes from God and those who are loving
and kind show that they are the children of God,
and that they are getting to know him better.

DeleteHow nice that you and your former colleagues stay in touch and have get togethers. That was a great meal.
ReplyDeleteThat bug looks like what we call a stink bug, the ones here spray a nasty scent if they are threatened, and stink horribly if you accidentally smash them.
The cat looks like it wanted to have a conversation.
Hope you are having a fabulous Saturday!

DeleteA beautiful photo of all of you! Let's see, I recognize Claire, and some of the others from previous posts when Claire was working. Some of this food I have never seen before. The big flaky pancake, yum! I wonder how they get the filling in? And the blue pea jelly, so pretty and refreshing looking. Is it sweet or savory? Does this pretty kitty hang around your yard? Maybe he will eat the bugs!
