Prawn Omelette & Long Bean Sambal On A Rainy Evening.

 It was a Saturday and the day started with a lovely morning and a golden sunrise.

Sunrise at 7:36am
~~~~~
An early dinner.
I had nothing much to do, so I decided to cook dinner earlier than usual.
The tub of prawns was thawed. Hubby requested for prawn omelette. Its been a long time since I cooked prawn omelette. I diced the prawns and chopped the spring onions and chilies.
I harvested some long beans, enough for dinner. Steamed long beans and topped with sambal dried prawns. By the time I finished washing up after dinner, it was about 5:35pm. Around that time, it started to rain and it turned into a heavy downpour.
Heavy downpour at 5:43pm.
These snapshots were taken from under my porch area.
My little garden was flooded.
The large amount of rain water couldn't flow fast enough and the drain was filled to the brim.
I messaged my neighbour who was still at work and she was worried that the water would flow into her porch area. We were glad it didn't and after a while, the rain slowed down.
When the rain slowed down, the water in the drain was able to flow without overflowing the drain.
For if you give, you will get!
Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure,
pressed down, shaken together to make room for more,
and running over.
Whatever measure you use to give - large or small -
will be used to measure what is given back to you.
  1. I love to eat prawns omelette. Better still if the prawns are whole in the omelette. Wow! What a heavy rain. Luckily no flood. After this heavy rain, did u go out to pour out any residue water still ponding in your pots?
    1. No problem with water logged flower pots. The water could easily drain out after a short while.
  6. I also like prawn omelette like that!
    Flash flood.. what to do, drainage systems can't cope with the sudden volume of water.
  7. Lovely sunrise there and you certainly did have a big down pour of rain.
    There are floods in Australia's State of New South Wales at the moment, saw a whole house go down the street and into the river - just amazing. On the TV of course in the news :)
  9. Nem tudo que parece é: o dia começou prometedor e acabou desabando água.
    1. We need the rain and I don't mind the downpours as long as there is no flooding.
  13. The downpour looks a lot like our summer weather here. Our weather always sounds similar. You sure won't have to water your garden anytime soon!
    1. Yes, that downpour helps me save some water. And I also have some big containers storing the rain water for watering my plants.
  16. Dinner looked mighty good and you had me at prawns. Yummy.
    Wow that was some downpour. I'm glad nothing was damaged and the drain finally took care of the abundance of water.
    Have a fabulous day and week, Nancy. ♥
  17. WoW! A beautiful sunrise and look at that rainstorm. They get heavy rains like that on the coast here, not so much here in the mountains. Love your prawn omelette and the beans look yummy.
  22. It happens here, too, that the rain will come so hard and fast it cannot drain well. Then it stops and all drains, and we are thankful!
  23. Glad the heavy rain took a break rather than flooding more. I hope it was a refreshing shower, and we really need one of it badly now to put down the temperature.
