On this particular morning, we had breakfast at one of the nearby coffee shop after our morning walk.
I noticed that the Hong Kong chee cheong fun stall is being managed by new people. We were told that the previous one has passed the business to one of their relatives. I ordered a plate to try and it was good.
Hubby ordered fried koay teow with prawns, egg and beansprouts.
Midday sky at 12:40pm.

I had some beef in the freezer that I bought from the wet market. I took it out to thaw and cut into slices, and marinate in the fridge. I divided the beef slices into 2 portion for 2 dinners.
1st dinner - 1 dish with steamed brown rice.
Beef slices with home grown white bitter gourd using ginger slices, chopped garlic, preserved black beans and chili bean sauce (toban djian).
Peace Lilies from my garden.
~~~~~
2nd dinner - Beef with white bitter gourd noodle.
Beef slices, home grown white bitter gourd slices, eggs, ginger slices, and wine broth.
Cooked instant dried noodle.
We ate the beef noodles with sambal belacan + lime juice.
Some days, our morning walk will take us this way and there is this old abandoned Volkswagon parked by the roadside.
We also get to see another Volkswagon which is much loved and well maintained. The owner drives this car around and is one of the regular patron of our regular coffee shop.
Now all praise to God for his wonderful kindness to us
and his favor that he has poured out upon us
because we belong to his dearly loved Son.
(Ephesians 1:6, The Living Bible-TLB)
I love beef and your two beef dishes look very tasty. I have two packets of sliced beef in my freezer, perhaps I can try the dishes like yours.
ReplyDeleteHaha...I am sure yours will be very tasty and mouth watering.
DeleteI love chee cheong fun! The VW Käfer is nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
DeleteGotta go for the Hong Kong chee cheong fun here one of these days. Only one stall in the whole town, believe it or not! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a few good ones here but they are far apart from each other.
Deleteboth the beef dishes look tasty. Old Volkswagen is a gem!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nux.
DeleteI like stir fried beef slices with bitter gourd and black beans. Rarely cook beef at home.
ReplyDeleteI too rarely cook beef at home because we can only buy beef at the main wet market in town.
ReplyDeleteThe dishes look delicious. This picture on the car is funny :)
Thank you, Lucyna.
DeleteHmmmm, yummy food, oh, the poor old VW! The other is pretty cool :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Iris.
DeleteThe instant dried noodle is the very dish I like.
ReplyDeleteAbout the two Volkswagen cars. The grey color is not recommended as it is close to the colour of the road and might not prevent accidents. Yellow, and all the other bright colors:red, white and the like, are to be preferred as the car will stand out.
Thank you, Duta. You are right about the colours. I too like bright colours but they fade easily in the hot sun.
DeleteA beautiful walk and a day filled with wonderful food. You both enjoy your meals as we do.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Nancy. ♥
Thank you, Sandee. Have a fabulous day.
DeleteWonderfu food and flowers, and I love the VW cars, how fun to see them. We used to have one back in the 1970s! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Valerie. Hugs.
DeleteI too love both your Beef With White Bitter Gourd dishes. Look so delicious! Don't think any eateries have these two dishes on their menu. Which of the two dishes do you prefer?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. Love both of them.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny. We have people buying and collecting these VWs.
DeleteThe peace lillies are pretty. Tasty looking food.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Belle.
DeleteYou are a good chef!
ReplyDeleteHow sad i am to see that Volkswagen neglected, i wish i could have it and restore it, i'd love one of those "Bugs!"
Yes, it is such a waste to abandon it and not sell it off to an interested buyer to restore it.
DeleteLinda flor, te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you, JP.
DeleteThank you, Francisco.
