We were invited to a birthday lunch at Restoran Yum Yum, Ipoh. We were late because we stopped to buy a birthday cake for the birthday boy. The following dishes were for 5 people.
Assam fish.
Fried chicken.
Fried brinjal.
Mango salad.
These were the first 4 dishes to reach the table.
Followed by yam bean with cuttlefish (jui hu char).
Fried egg with tofu topped with minced meat.
These are on the wall in front of me.
While waiting for them to tidy up the table, I snapped some photos.
This is on the same wall.
This was behind me, on one corner.
Happy Birthday to the birthday boy.
No blowing of candles but the birthday boy get to make a wish.

After lunch, we parted and went our own way.
We were told to meet up again for dinner at The Grass.
I had to google for the location.
We have not finished with the birthday celebration yet.
We were still full so we decided to have some dessert.
We need to give our orders and pay at the cash counter before entering the premise.
While our friend was busy at the cash counter, I took some snapshots.
Something about The Grass.
We had the whole place to ourselves.
We had to collect our orders.
The men had fruity drinks. A friend ordered the jelly dessert.
I ordered this fruity and ice-cream dessert with shaved ice.
Spicy seaweed turtle chips.
This was spicy fried Korean chicken.
This is a nice place to chill out with friends.
We enjoy the yummy snacks and desserts.

DeleteI like the wall paintings in the first restaurant especially the second painting with the mountain and lakes.
ReplyDeleteI always try to take photos of wall paintings or decorations unless some customers are sitting next to the painting. They may not like it when I point my phone camera in their direction.
DeleteThis really is a nice post! I love the food at both places. I would love to try that mango salad. Never had that, and it looks interesting.
