One Monday evening, we were invited to join our friends and their family for a home cooked dinner at their home. Our friends are very hospitable people and the hostess is a good cook. Its a blessing to be invited to enjoy the delicious meal with their family. By the time we arrived, everything was ready to be served.
Starting from the bottom: Egg + beans omelette and steamed Chinese sausages (mostly for their grandchildren), stewed ginger duck, fish head + veggie curry and black vinegar pig's trotter.
A closer look at the chicken with ginger slices dish.
That night this was our favourite dish. Spicy sweet sour stewed pig trotters with white radish. A very appetizing dish to go with white rice.
From left: Stir fry Chinese kale (kai lan) with roast pork. Egg & onions omeletter. Steamed minced pork with preserved veggie (toong choy). Thank you, friends for a wonderful dinner and a time of sweet fellowship.

This old fashioned switchboard is still in use in a coffee shop.
The old and the new side by side.

O God, you have helped me from my earliest childhood - and I
have constantly testified to others of the wonderful things you do.
And now that I am old and gray, don't forsake me.
Give me time to tell this new generation (and their children too)
about all your mighty miracles.
(Psalm 71:17-18, The Living Bible-TLB)
Hummm que coisas mais deliciosas.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

Thank you, Francisco. Have a beautiful day!
DeleteIn warm climates I find it interesting how climbing fig (I think that's what it is) will take over. Nature seems to want to take over things. Communications certainly have changed over the years. Thanks Nancy for being a part of Tuesday's Treasures, I hope that you visit again.

DeleteHi Nancy, even though I enjoy eating out (but I don't get to because I just don't have the money), for myself there is nothing more comforting and heartwarming than a home cooked meal shared with friends and/or family. This meal looks delicious!

DeleteWhat a feast this is! And even better, with good friends! I never guessed this is a switchboard! Maybe it is the back, because they have cords to connect one person to another. I was a switchboard operator for several years, on a three position switchboard in a Children's Hospital
ReplyDeleteOops Ginny, I am sorry. It is my mistake. I should have mentioned that it is a power switchboard. Have a fantastic day!
DeleteI like the fact that the old switchboard is still there and being used too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Abrianna. We can still find these switchboards in old buildings.
