From Gopeng, we drove straight to Temoh because my friends were looking forward to have lunch at Restoran Nam Hing Loong. We reached our destination but found the shop close. Maybe we were early, so drove around to check out the little town. After a while, we turned back and saw workers opening up the restaurant. The time was between 12 to 12.30 pm. We were the first customers to step inside the restaurant and very soon followed by others.
Our friends wanted to taste the pork knuckle that we ordered on our previous visit. We enjoyed the pork knuckle with the basil and milk dipping sauce.
Sambal belacan paku pakis (wild fern).
We order "sang yu" (snakehead fish). The meaty part used for stir fried with ginger slices and spring onions.
\The remaining bony parts used for boiling preserved salted vegetables (hum choy) with tofu. Total cost of lunch for 4 people - RM 92.60
Restoran Nam Hing Loong, Temoh.
After lunch, we crossed over to the coffee shop selling steamed buns to pack some home for next day's breakfast.
On our way to Temoh we saw durian stalls on both sides of the road after Gopeng. We planned to stop for durian on our way back to Ipoh. It was raining on the way back but we still stopped for some durians to satisfy our taste buds.

Have A Wonderful & Thankful Wednesday!
Linking to Wednesday Around The World (WATW)
Remember what Christ taught,
and let his words enrich your lives and make you wise;
teach them to each other and sing them out in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing to the Lord with thankful hearts.
(Colossians 3:16, The Living Bible-TLB)

Delete...I have seen durian at the farmers market in Maui, but never try it. Perhaps this year.
ReplyDeletePlease do try. At least you will know how it tastes like and whether you love it or hate it. Lol!
DeleteI love pork knuckle, I often cook it at home, yum yum. Kep well Diane
ReplyDeleteMe too! I normally stew the pork knuckle but have never deep fried it or roast it whole. Stay safe and warm!
DeleteWah durians are back! Pork knuckle looks good! Wonder how does milk and basil dipping sauce taste like?
ReplyDeleteThe milk and basil dipping taste good. There is no basil smell so my hubby likes it.

ReplyDeleteThank you, William!
DeleteI want some of that lunch. I always come here before breakfast and I'm so hungry. The veggie plate looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day, Nancy. ♥
The veggie is well cooked here.
DeleteI think you need to write a book, Nancy, covering all these wonderful dishes. It would be a best seller!
ReplyDeleteThank you, David! Maybe where to find the Best food in and around Ipoh? I enjoy eating but am not a good writer. Lol!
DeleteWow!
ReplyDeletewild fern? It's so exciting.
I had no idea that you could eat it.
Greetings.
Only this common type. Some not edible.
DeleteExcellent post (as always)!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Beauty!
DeleteMaravilloso post Nancy, muy interesante. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lola!
DeleteI've never eaten durian it seems it is like jackfruit.
ReplyDeleteDurian has sharp thorns, jackfruit has thorns but they are not sharp. The flesh of durian is soft and need not bite to eat, jackfruit is not soft, needs to chew to eat.
DeleteThat pile of wild fern for me please!
ReplyDeleteYes, that wild fern is delicious.
DeleteDinner, durian, and flowers, a good day!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi! And good company too!
DeleteI would like to try the pork knuckle with the milk dipping sauce
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will love it.
DeleteThe dip that came with the pork knuckle is interesting. Salute your ‘cari makan’ skills!
ReplyDeleteI have to give credit to my friend who recommended the pork knuckle! Yes, the pork knuckle and its dipping sauce is a good combination.
