Beef Noodle Breakfast & Cooking King Oyster Mushrooms

No morning walk on this particular morning (two Thursdays ago) because it looked like it was going to rain and we didn't want to be caught in the rain.

Morning sky at 7:04am.
A snapshot of these blooms with low sunlight.
~~~~~
We drove to Jelapang village for beef noodle. We were informed by a friend that this shop is now open for business after they had closed for some renovation.
We chose a table in the newly renovated shop lot.
Looks like everything is new.
I ordered a bowl of flat rice noodle (koay teow) in clear soup, a bowl of beef soup "ngau lam tong" and some fried stuffs for 2 people.
I heard that the younger generation has taken over the cooking of this beef + white radish soup. There is room for improvement on the soup, hopefully, the soup will soon reach the quality cooked by the older generation.
Hubby and I shared this bowl of noodle.
I like their fried stuffs.
Back home, I spotted this ripen fig before the birds get to it.
My sister-in-law gave me a packet of fresh king oyster mushrooms. I cut some to fry omelette for lunch.
My miniature hibiscus plant is doing well.
Sunset at 6:55pm
It is not often I get to take snapshots of sunsets.
~~~~~
Simple no rice dinner for 2.
Sliced king oyster mushrooms cooked with minced meat.
I added some napa cabbage to the spicy sour mustard green that my friend gave us.

Can horses run on rocks? Can oxen plow the sea?
Stupid even to ask - but no more stupid than what you do
when you make a mockery of justice and corrupt
and sour all that should be good and right.
(Amos 6:12, The Living Bible-TLB)

  1. YES!!! I love this type of beef noodles, the clear soup one. Not really crazy about the Taiwanese version - a lot of people like that. I just had a bowl yesterday morning but yours look nicer - post on it in my blog soon.

    1. I like this clear soup version. There is one place in Bercham which serves delicious beef soup. So far, I think it is by far the best.

  5. The napa cabbage sour spicy mustard leaves dish is my pick for this post but the clear radish beef soup is a close contender. I like the many pieces of radish in the soup. Do you mean that the beef soup does not have robust taste like before? Could it be due to too early in the morning so the beef broth has not been cooked that long to reach the robust taste?

    1. Yes, it could be true because the longer the soup is boiled, the tastier it gets.

  6. I like king oyster mushroom. Stir fried with other vegetables is nice. Or with bell peppers not bad too.
