A Scrumptious Dinner Treat At Restoran Hao Hao, Menglembu.

I was having breakfast with a friend when I received a call from another friend on my mobile phone. She called to invite hubby and I for dinner and we were to meet them (husband and wife) at 7 pm, Restoran Hao Hao in Menglembu. This is their regular place and they were informed by the cook that there was a fresh snakehead fish (freshwater fish) weighing about 2 kg. And that was when they thought of us and invited us to join them for dinner.

Our friends have tasted the herbal wine fish soup in Lawan Kuda and have requested the cook to used the 2 kg snakehead fish to cook the same style. The meaty part of the fish to be sliced for stir fry and the remnants including the head, fins and tail to be fried and used for boiling the herbal wine soup. The moment we were seated, our dinner was served. And the following photos were of the dishes we had for dinner.
Herbal Wine Fish Soup - Ingredients consist of bony parts of fish, ginger slices, red dates, goji berries, a kind of Chinese ginseng called dong gui, wine, etc. This soup is so flavourful and delicious that we finished the whole pot of soup. I even picked and cleaned whatever meat from the bony parts. That showed how much we enjoyed this pot of soup.
This is a big plate, heaped with fish slices, stir fried with ginger slices, green onions and big onions.
Another flavourful dish - stewed pig's tail with canned peanuts.
Just this dish alone is enough for our dinner, eaten with steamed rice.
Stir fried cabbage with garlic and oyster sauce.
This soup was on the house and I drank this too! It is slow boiled to extract all the goodness and flavour into the soup.
Thank you, friends for this scrumptious dinner and a wonderful time of get together.
The sky is beautiful at all times of the day. Dusk at Ipoh!
