Lunch At Restoran Makanan Laut Hai Yong, Bagan Datuk

Our next destination after the Sky Mirror was a small fishing village in Bagan Sungai Burung. The villagers living here are mostly of Teochew dialect. After alighting from the bus, we had to walk some distance to the seafood restaurant.
 These are for ferrying tourists.
 This one caught my eye.

A dilapidated house beside an almost dried up stream.
Not a pleasant sight with all the rubbish.
Fishing boats on both sides of the river.
Restoran Makanan Laut Hai Yong - where we had our lunch.
It was past 1:30 pm and everyone was famished.
The first dish was finally brought to our table at 2:10 pm.
Fish balls and fish noodle soup.
 Followed by steamed flower crabs
Steamed 3 combination - thick shell clams, prawns and cuttle fish which was hidden beneath all the garnishing.
 Stir fried sweet potato leaves.
Blanched cuttlefish served with Thai sweet chili sauce.
Sample of the local Teochew kuih or sweet cake. This was the pan fried version.
Deep fried crunchy baby cuttlefish and fish skin coated with savoury sauce.
 Steamed white pomfret fish.
Prawns with salted egg yoke sauce.
It tasted like it had cheese in this very tasty and flavourful sauce.
Thumbs up for this scrumptious lunch. If you are looking for fresh and delicious seafood, this is the place to go to.

And how can we be sure that we belong to him (Jesus)?
By looking within ourselves:
are we really trying to do what he wants us to?

  1. Those prawns look delicious! It made me smile to see that no matter where in the world you are, you are never far from somewhere that sells Guinness!

    1. The restaurant is just by the river side, convenient for the fishermen to deliver their catch from the sea.
