Our Simple Breakfast: Toast Bun & Noodle

One morning we went to one of our regular coffee shops for breakfast after our morning walk.
 My hubby's usual unsweetened black coffee and my favourite herbal tea.
That morning I have no appetite for noodle, so I ordered toasted sweet bun.
I requested butter and kaya (coconut jam) for the toasted sweet bun.
Sometime this simple and light breakfast is very satisfying.
 Hubby ordered this bowl of pre-fried noodle (yee mee) in soup.
 Thank God for His blessing upon us.
A pink shower ruellia flower from my garden.
This flower looks like the Mexican Dwarf Petunia flower.
 The above items are from the National Museum.
From the top: water or soup ladles, coconut grater and sweet cake moulds.
 Coconut Grater is a type of jagged tool used to grate the coconut meat or kernel. It is one of the most important cooking tools especially among the Malay villagers. Probably an inseparable tool from traditional Malay societies as most of the Malay cuisine recipes use coconut milk.

But someone may well argue,
"You say the way to God is by faith alone, plus nothing;
well, I say that good works are important too,
for without good works you can't prove whether you have faith or not;
but anyone can see that I have faith by the way I act."
(James 2:18, The Living Bible-TLB)

  3. Yee mee is one of my favourite noodles. The toasted sweet bun looks like those Apollo buns - how much does it cost?

    1. I don't know the cost, but I think it is cheap because this is just a coffee shop.

  15. I would never have known what any of these implements are! So the coconut graters still look like this? Must be heavy!

    1. Yes, it is heavy because of the block of wood. Some homes are still using it but most shops are using electric powered graters.

    Pan tostado con mantequilla es un buen desayuno.
