Dinner At A Holiday Resort

Our last holiday in Cameron Highlands was in 2019. Since the first lockdown until now, we have put all our holiday plans on hold. Lately, our friend has been sending snapshots taken from his new condominium. Since then, we have been referring to his new condo as his weekend holiday resort away from the city.

Evening view from above.
Last Saturday, we were invited to a home cooked dinner at this weekend holiday resort. All the food were prepared by the hostess.
We used a navigator app to lead us the way.
We were warmly welcomed into the resort by the host while the hostess was busy getting dinner ready for us. Thanks to our hostess, we get to enjoy all these delicious dishes.
Ginger chicken with basil leaves.
Long bean omelette.
Sambal dried shrimp sweet potato leaves (home grown from my garden).
Black vinegar pig leg.
Ginger chicken without basil leaves specially for my hubby.
Cauliflower, carrot and fish balls.
Minced meat and fish paste patties.
After dinner, we had ice creams dessert (mini magnum ice creams) brought by our friends.
Just before we leave, I took this snapshot of the night lights from above.
We then thanked our host and hostess for the dinner and for their hospitality.
We bade them goodnight and we returned to our homes.

Above all, love each other deeply,
because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,
as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
(1 Peter 4:8-10, New International Version-NIV)

  1. Lovely food! Your friends who are the host and hostess are so gracious. I think ginger and basil leaves won't go well together, am I wrong?

    1. Lol! The resort is not in Cameron Highland. Plus, we can't cross border to Cameron Highlands. Our friend's weekend resort is located outskirt of Ipoh.

  19. I miss Camerons too. Puasa month would have been an ideal time to go as I hear the crowds are much less.

Good that you had a 'resort' to go to in the meantime. :) Maybe we should organise these 'holidays' hehe. A friend of mine unearthed all his Persian-style carpets, draped fabric from the ceiling and called it 'Iftar in Turkey'.

  20. The last time we went to Cameron was on my daughter's 19th birthday, that was three years ago. I hope we can get to go there again. Lovely spread. I love that "Sambal dried shrimp sweet potato leaves". Maybe will try to cook that if I can find sweet potato leaves.

Don't know of anyone down here who cooks sweet potato leaves, our ordinary potato leaves are poisonous to humans.
