Fish Noodle For Breakfast & BBQ + Hot Pot Dinner

Instead of taking breakfast in the same old places in our area, our friends suggested that we go try a new place. So, we agreed to meet up and go in one car. The name of the coffee shop is Kedai Makanan Swisang, Gunung Rapat, Ipoh.

I ordered the above: fried fish noodle with pickled vegetable (hum choy). I think the white colour is due to evaporated milk. This is very tasty.
Hubby ordered dry curry noodle.

Later in the evening, we had dinner at Thai Hou Sek BBQ Taste at Perniagaan Falim, Ipoh. For a change, we wanted to have something different instead of the usual rice with dishes.
This is a new eatery.
Top row for vegetables and bottom row for dipping sauces.
On the wall above the rows of food varieties.
For a start, we picked the following items.
Some fresh scallops, cuttlefish rings, thin slices of pork belly.
Thick slices of marinated pork belly.
Big prawns.
Fried snacks and many others which I didn't get to take snapshots.
First round, some went into the soup (outer ring) and the centre is for grilling. To round up the dinner, we took 2 rounds of ice cream because the ice cream very smooth and creamy.
We were one of the first customers and half way through, the place was all filled up.
Good thing we were early when it easier for us to get the food we like without having to crowd with the others.
I don't know the exact pricing but for senior citizens the charge is RM39.90 per person. There were 4 of us and we only need to pay for 3 people + 1 free.
In total, we paid RM131.65 (inclusive of 10% service tax).

Listen with respect to the father who raised you,
and when your mother grows old, don't neglect her.
Buy truth - don't sell it for love or money;
buy wisdom, buy education, buy insight.
Parents rejoice when their children turn out well;
wise children become proud parents.
So make your father happy! Make your mother proud!

  1. I like this West Malaysian style fish noodles with the milky soup. So cheap the BbQ hotpot there. Here, expensive and they give lousy cheap ingredients. Better have our own at home.

  3. Thank you Nancy. My spouse would love to eat the fish noodles but without milk in the soup. Very good price for the golden age for the bbq and hot pot dinner. I guess the ice cream is not too sweet, right? Since everyone ate two helpings of ice cream.

  4. The curry noodle, please!
    You have such fancy restaurants there!
    Ingo sadly has to be so careful with food (no hot oil) we hardly go. If, then steak house.
    And friends live too far away (and if we end up at IKEA, triple-boring!)
    I love seeing what you have :-)

  11. I miss the fish noodle soup. I like with milk but usually I order plain, clear soup because sometime I could get discomfort and indigestion when taking milk, even small amount.
