Jasmine Flowers In My Garden.

Today's post is about my Jasmine plant. I have one growing in a pot.
It has pretty white flowers. The flowers give out a sweet fragrance.
It is a fast growing plant. It is very hardy and does not need much care.
The branches grow long and they branch out in all directions.
I have to cut back the branches often to keep it neat. Trimming the long branches encourages a bushier growth.
These are the buds and white flowers.
This is one of the many types of Jasmine plants.
Some wear the flowers on their hair and some use the flowers for praying. The flowers are commonly used by our local Indian community.
Jasmine flowers are used in perfume, scented soaps, etc.
One day, I noticed some purple flower buds.
But I missed seeing the flowers, so I didn't get to see the actual colour of the flowers.
(Update on 12.05.2017 - Name of this Jasmine plant is Jaminum sambac 'Maid of Orleans' a.k.a. 'Belle of India')

Since today is Floral Passions day, here are more flower photos.
Deep pink Canna flowers from Fraser's Hill.
Pink/Orange Firecracker flowers from my garden.
Our local Red/Purple Bleeding Hearts or Nyonya Makan Sirih flowers from my friend's garden.
A friend snapped these 2 flowers outside his house and sent the picture to me through Whatsapp. Can you see the 2 love birds in the center of the flower?

this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit,
staying right at the center of God's love,

  14. OH, Jasmine, what a special post! I love the smell of jasmine! I think I have never seen a real jasmine plant, though. It seems to be the most romantic of all flowers. If we lived close, I would be over asking for cuttings!
