DINNER AT SOO HAR YEE RESTAURANT, BERCHAM, IPOH.

One evening, six of us grouped together for dinner at a restaurant which our friends suggested. We have not been to this restaurant and we all agreed to give this place a try since there were good reviews written about the food.

As we do not know the place, we will have to go together with our Bercham friends who know. When we started from our house that evening, we realized that it had started to drizzle.
As we looked to the hills, it was already raining over there.
The rain from the hill was heading our way.

I managed to snap a photo of this place together with its chain link fencing since hubby was driving. By the time we reached our friends' house, the rain was pouring down.
The restaurant was packed with customers and we have to wait awhile for a table.
Good company kept our minds from the waiting and our hungry tummies.
Beggar's Chicken with herbs (free range chicken). (RM45.00)
Fresh water prawns specially cooked in clay pot. I like this dish, very tasty.
There were 6 prawns for 6 people. (RM78.00)

Snakehead fish slices stir fried with young ginger slices and spring onion.
The rest of the fish was for cooking soup.
After the flesh had been removed, the rest of the fish was used to cook drunken soup. Fish slices + fish soup (RM60.00)
Paku pakis fiddleheads with sambal belacan. (spicy prawn paste). (RM10.00)
Total cost of dinner, inclusive of rice and Chinese tea for 6 people - RM218.70

The LORD will open the heavens,
the storehouse of His bounty,
to send rain on your land in season and
to bless all the work of your hands.
You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

  12. Very stormy looking skies. I liked the colorful building behind the fence. - The food looked good but again some of it is so different from what I eat that I'm not sure I would try it. - Today I actually tried, Lychee nuts and enjoyed them.

  15. Food must have tasted better if weather is bad outside. :) I also calculated price per head and found not cheap haha. Only the prawn would be an expensive ingredient.
