Mother's Day 54th Day MCO 2020

Since the MCO started our sons have not been home because travelling beyong the state boundary is not allowed. They chose to stay put where they are and work from home. They remembered that yesterday was Mother's Day. They are waiting for the MCO to be over before they can travel home to visit us. The MCO has been further extended to 9th June.
Simple and quiet Mother's Day
Morning sky at 7:03 am.
The day started at about 5:45 am with a quiet time spent reading the Bible and prayer. Then I spent about half an hour walking exercise in front of the PC. Then I went outside to catch the sunrise.
Sunrise at 7:47 am.
Hubby went out to buy breakfast and I watered the plants.
~~~~~
Breakfast
Hubby had nasi lemak with 2 pieces of fried sui kau (dumplings).
I had cream crackers with jam and we both had hot Nescafe drink.
~~~~~
Lunch
I called up to order 4 flaky curry puffs @ RM 2.60 each.
I drove to the pick up point about 7-8 mins at the appointed time.
Warm and crunchy curry puffs with chicken meat, potato, and hard boiled egg. We ate 1 each and kept 2 in the fridge for the next day's breakfast.
~~~~~
Dinner
I have been thinking of our favourite fish curry for a few weeks. Since its Mother's Day, I want to pamper myself so I called to order one small portion fish curry. I was told to collect at about 7:45 pm as they have to cater to many orders. Not surprising because it was Mother's Day.
Mother's Day dinner at home for 2 people under MCO
I steamed rice and 2 salted eggs. Salted egg goes well with curries.
Fish curry with 5 to 6 chunks of fish meat, tofu puffs, and assorted vegetables. Feeling so contented after a yummy-licious dinner on a rainy day. We kept half of the fish curry in the fridge for another meal.
But as for me, my hope is to see Your face.
When I am vindicated, I will look up the holy face of God,
and when I awake, the longing of my soul
will be satisfied in the glow of Your presence.
(Psalm 17:15, The Voice-Voice)
  1. Cream crackers with jam - I have never tried that so will try one day. The curry puffs are of good quality cos from your photo of the cross section, can see all the various yummy ingredients in them and at such a good price too. Don't think can get them here. Yes, do pamper yourself. Fish curry sounds so delicious! I also haven't tried eating salted eggs with curry before. Must try one day. Was it by chance that you discover that salted eggs taste good with curry?
    1. It all started when I ate nasi kandar with lots of curry gravy and I added salted egg. That was when I found out that salted egg and curry gravy go well together.
  2. The curry puffs are beautiful; I have never seen pastries like this. What is this in the air in your first picture? Doesn't quite look like a bird.
    1. Thank you, Ginny. I am not sure what it is. Could be a bird because the birds were flying but they were too fast for me.
  12. Those four curry puffs are just simply almost to beautiful to eat! Glad you had a good day in spite of not seeing your children. One of my daughters came and brought me flowers but did not come inside. I told her she didn't have to, but she did.
